Oklahoma Tribe gears up for New Election
The Cherokee Nation, in Tahlequah are begin their “mid-term” election cycle. Citizens seams to filled with much excitement and a 40+ candidates have already picked up filing packets over a month before the filing deadline.
The Cherokee Nation is looking to fill Tribal Council Seats open for Districts 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 15, and one At-Large Council seat for at large citizens living outside of the tribes reservation. Citizen interested in Voting in the upcoming elections need to register vote with the Cherokee Nation Election commission and also request a absentee ballot from the commission. The deadline to return these forms is March the 31st.
