Ft. Sill Artillery Half Section Adoption of Marty
Fort Sill Artillery Half Section Member – Marty
Lawton/Ft. Sill Half Section member, Marty, has been apart of the team for the last 19 years of his life, responsible for pulling the cannon and other demonstrations for the Artillery.
31 years young, Marty is now in the midst of his next and final phase of the good life – retirement. Chief of the Ft. Sill Artillery Half Section, Mr. Stuck, told us about Marty and his career on base.
The process of adoption for Marty was without any cost to potential adopters; however, only one approved home would be chosen specifically by Mr. Stuck. They took in their final applications for Marty’s new retirement home on February 8, 2021, and are currently sorting through applicants and deciding who has the honor of bringing Marty home.
Expectations for potential adopters were that they needed to be able to care for an older horse with plenty of land to graze on, to be able to afford the feed needed, and to maintain a happy and healthy life for Marty. Because of Marty’s age, adopters were also advised not to ride him and, instead, allow him to live his days happily and relaxed.
We have not yet received an update about who will be the lucky adopter, but as soon as we know, you all will too.

An attention-grabbing discussion is worth comment. I feel that it is best to write more on this subject, it might not be a taboo topic however usually people are not enough to talk on such topics. To the next. Cheers Theodora Keane Rachele
