“Die-hard” jumper Charley Wright has all the details of how the Medicine Park Polar Plunge started 23 years ago, advice for jumpers, and insight on how the Plunge contributes to the community. Mr. Wright is the owner of the Santa Shop, located directly beside Bath Lake. They intend on being open and available on the day of the Plunge. Although they may not have hot drinks on the day of the plunge, they offer snacks and other supplies to make the event a fun one.
We also plan on streaming the jump from our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/Oklahomalifetv. The stream will also take place on the Discover Medicine Park Oklahoma Facebook page as well, thanks to all of the Medicine Park Merchants (https://www.facebook.com/MedicineParkOK).
Santa Charley was also recently honored by the Charley Wright Creek Walk that almost all of the jumpers will walk past on the way to Bath Lake for the Polar Plunge.
Thank you to our sponsors and for merchants like Santa Charley for making the Polar Plunge stream happen, without them none of this would be possible.
Note to jumpers: Even if it’s cold, Charley is still taking the plunge – so you definitely should, too! Use this opportunity to dress up in costume, either just for fun or to dedicate your time to a cause close to your heart.
Note to spectators: Charley says that “If its cold, we will most likely have more interesting costumes” since most jumpers will want to dress to stay warm. Don’t let the chill keep from coming to enjoy the plunge.
Most importantly, you’l be able to enjoy the entire experience without having to record it all because WE’RE DOING THAT FOR YOU on our Livestream. In the future, you can always come back you our website (www.Oklahomalife.tv) and re-watch the entire experience.
We plan on streaming more events in Southwest Oklahoma and in Medicine Park, too. So plan on hearing from Mr. Santa Charley again on OklahomaLife.tv.
